One of the freelance jobs I have been working on for the last 3-years is producing video content for the National High School Career Day Network in the Los Angeles area. This organization offers local high school all the tools and structure they need to put together an incredible career day for their students, organizing the event, bringing in local speakers, coordinating volunteers, and inspiring the students to get involved. It’s a wonderful opportunity for these young people to start gaining insight into what type of careers they want to pursue after school, and often provides internship and mentor opportunities along the way.
Myself and my intrepid production crew film these events — interviewing the staff, speakers and students — and then I edit them into 5-minute documentaries that they schools can use to show off these events, and NHSCD can use to get more schools on board.
